Earmark Cattery is located in the Phoenix, AZ metro area & has produced several CFA Champions, 21 Grand Champions/Premiers, 13 Regional Winners, two National Best Of Breeds, one DM. and one HHP Regional Winner (straight-ear Scottish Fold) as well as many loving pets living across the United States and Canada.  Our goal is to breed for quality in type, temperment and health....never quanity.  These sweet "Owl & The Pussy Cat" type cats are our babies, spoiled rotten and much loved!
My husband and I registered our cattery name (Earmark) with CFA in the summer of 1989.

Although I have been owned by many different types of cats since I can remember (which includes mostly  Domestic Shorthairs, but also American SH, British SH, Siamese, Tonkinese, Oriental SH, Color Point SH, & Birman) I fell in love with the Scottish Fold after my late father first brought the Scottish Fold to my attention back in the early 1980's.  My parents went to a home to adopt a rescued Domestic SH kitten and saw this "really big beautiful cat with small folded ears" as my father told me in excitement.  My parents did adopt the rescued kitten, but my father never stopped talking about that big cat that looked so different and seemed so friendly and outgoing.  I then scoured cat books in search of this unique cat that so excited a man known for not showing his emotions very often.  My parents did adopt a red tabby male Scottish Fold they named "Rusty" about one year later from a breeder even though they were not impressed with the environment in which the Scottish Fold was living in and how he and his littermates were being cared for.  After meeting Rusty and hearing this bit of information about the breeder, I not only wanted to adopt a Scottish Fold as a pet, but to also one day breed them properly in a clean, healthy environment.  With this in mind, I attended many cat shows in the SW Region before buying my first Scottish Fold.

It did not take long to find out that the Scottish Fold is one of the most difficult breeds to work with when it comes to producing a "Show Cat".  Thirsty for knowledge and the desire to constantly improve upon our breed of choice, I must admit that we changed our breeding program 3 different times in the early years.  Persistence and a lot of self education are a few of the things I have learned when striving to produce a beautiful, healthy cat.  Earmark Cattery is NOT a business or "farm", but rather a serious hobby and labor of love for us.  We use only CFA allowed outcrosses when breeding our folded ear cats which include British SH's, American SH's and Perk-ear Scottish Folds.  Our Scottish Folds & British SH's are our "children" and I would expect any potential Pet owner to feel the same way.

We are members of:  CFA Scottish Fold Breed Council (Patrick - 2001/2002 BC
Secretary), The International Scottish Fold Association, Perthshire Clan Cat Club, Soutwest Scottish Fold Fanciers and the Grand Canyon Cat Club.
